They Say There is a Reason

They say there is a reason,

But neither time nor reason,

Will change the way I feel.

For no-one knows the heartache,

That lies behind our smiles,

No-one knows how many times,

We want to tell you something,

You're so wonderful to think of,

One Of A Kind

I know you are busy with the good things you do

To seek out in Heaven the one that I miss

It wasn’t her fault she had to go

That I had a Mum who was one of a kind

So please read to Mum the words in my letter

And just one more thing if it’s not to much trouble

My life without you is empty

I need you back so much

I wish you were here beside me

I long to feel your touch

Our time together was special

Our love was very strong

Why were you taken from me?

It all seems very wrong

Why must I go on without you?

I miss you more each day

You went away too quickly

The world is now so gray

I think about you always

But that is nothing new

When everyday I have left,

has to be without you.

I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new

I thought about you yesterday and the day before that too

I think of you in many ways I often speak your name

All I have are memories and your picture in a frame

Your memory is my keepsake with which Ill never part

I will never ever forget you as you’re always in my heart.

Returning to work

Hello I'm back but I'm merely a shell

Since I last saw you I've been through hell,

Now that I'm here please give me some space

Don't talk behind my back but straight to my face.

Look into my eyes see the terrible pain

And remember someday you could feel the same,

Please be patient I need plenty of time

You see I'm still hurting and not at my prime.

My hands will shake and the tears will fall

I really don't want to be here at all,

My heart is broken I'm cold right through

Please don't leave me I need someone to talk to.

Don't be embarrassed don't shy away

It will be easier when we get passed today,

Don't give me a job where I'll be all alone

I need to be with people not a no go zone.

I'm terribly angry I just want to scream

If only this were just a bad dream,

I really can't cope I'll never get through

Please be kind and show me what to do.

Don't tell me "life goes on" because mines at an end

Just give me a hug and say you'll be my friend,

Don't box me in corners and cause me more stress

Yes you’re right I didn't iron my dress.

I don't care how I look it's enough that I'm here

Don't tell me I've lost weight that’s quite clear,

I don't need building up I don't want a tonic pill

Don't ask are you better I haven't been ill.

I see no future don't ask me to plan.

It's very hard knowing, your son won’t be a man,

Please be sincere your kindness not hollow

Then maybe I'll have the strength to come back tomorrow.

In Heaven

He took you home to heaven, to stay

But, I guess, I had  to learn,

A missing Angel, so He chose you,

We understand how it just had to be,

Free at last, free from pain,

We are all missing you,

But we got to understand,

Make sure there's a place for us,

Go now my sweet one, run and play,

We'll  think of you in every way.

Your eyes were dim and glassy,

as you gazed into the sky.

you were getting weaker,

you knew that you would die.

The lord wrapped his arms around you,

and took you by the hand.

and led you back with him,

to the promised land.

Years have passed us quickly

its so hard to believe,

That it only feels like yesterday

that I saw you leave.

Each day now starts without you,

but you'll always be a part.

Don't Cry For Me

I really hate to see,

that I made your cry. 

See, I didn't really mean to,

or know that I would die.

But the angels came from heaven,

and, I heard them say my name.

They told me they were here for me

and that is why they came.

They gave me these pair wings,

and told me I had to try.

To follow them to heaven,

and that I had to fly.

I promise I'm okay

and this you must believe,

 I'll return one day to get you,

when it's your time to leave.

  My love I've seen,  I’ve seen her here,

She walks with such a grace.

She turned to look and smile at  me,

The sun upon her face.

 I swear I caught a familiar scent,

The fragrance of her hair.

Could I believe, should I believe,

Her spirit was really there?

Her eyes so bright, shining with love,

No pain to cloud them now,

And when she laughed, no line was seen,

Across that perfect brow.

 Oh love, if you would only wait,

Beyond the tears and pain,

We’ll walk together, hand in hand,
