Every Memory Is To Treasure

You have been a refreshment to us all

As dew upon a flower at dawn,

We thank God He gave you as a blessing

You will be in our hearts forevermore.

No matter where you are led from here

Our God will go before,

Just as He brought you to our lives

He will open every door.

The time we spent as mutual friends

Is beyond what we can measure,

Every memory we will hold of you

Will be a special treasure.

Thank you for giving of your all

You shared your gifts in every way

Inspiring us to greater hopes

How we wish that you could stay.

They'll Be The Whisper In Your Heart

They'll be the warmth in every breeze

And the wind that blows the leaves

They'll be the whisper in your heart

And the soft touch upon your cheek.

They'll be the angel in your dreams

And the bright stars up in the sky

They'll be the laughter of each child

And the new born baby's gentle cry.

They will be the chirping of the birds

As each new morn they sing

They will be as free as butterflies

That fly upon the whispering wings.

They will never be forgotten

The ones that have gone on

But someday we'll be with them

Right near His royal throne

Although we shed some tears

In our hearts we see them home

They're the angels watching over us

Keeping us always, safe and warm.

It Wasn't Them

It wasn't them, they took away

In roses pink and white,

Without their smile and twinkly eye

Where it might seem as night.

It wasn't them, their heart's alive

It never skipped a beat,

It wasn't them, for all they are

Is all the more complete.

It wasn't them, that said goodbye

Farewell is not your word,

But, see you soon, it won't be long

Until in life we merge.

It wasn't them, they cannot die

For they, are yet alive,

You heard them whisper, 'wait-

I'll see you, do not cry'.

It wasn't them, but you that cried

For dreams you can't yet see,

While they are more than overjoyed

In life eternally.

It wasn't them, but, hope within

That fell within the grass,

To struggle for the comfort

That they are safe at last.

It wasn't them, but you that held

Onto your every breath,

For, when you watched them fly away

You knew it wasn't death.

It wasn't them, all swept away

For they, are where it's real,

It isn't them bereft, nor grieved

But you, who waits to heal.

It wasn't them that lay there still

But you, that tried to move,

For they're already flying free

In all that's beautiful.

Our God will hold you close and warm

It always was, and ever is

His LOVE in them and you...

Grass And Morning Dew

I search for the invisible

To grasp within my hand,

Just some of Life’s intangibles...

I strive to understand.

My heart sighs with a silent tear

But boundless joy breathes too

Mingling in each moment’s breath

Like grass and morning dew.

The broken heart of you, my friend-

I’d heal this very hour

I’d take away each tear you've wept,

If it was within my power!

But the road is long, unwavering

With rocks along the way

Sometimes, truly, all I can do

Is get on my knees and pray…

I pray for God to hold you up

And strength to find its place,

To mingle in each living breath,

With God’s abiding grace.

If love can help and prayers can mend-

They both abound for you

Be embraced by them,

My dear sweet friend…

Like grass with morning dew.

The Valley Of Loss

I wish I knew a way

or the find right words to say

that would make all your pain

just fade all away.

Your hurt I truly can feel

in your shoes, I have walked

I know the heaviness

that now weighs down your heart.

No pain I have found is worse

than to lose that special someone

Because such a big part of you

They had become.

As The Moon Was On The Rise

I went walking toward the sunset

As the moon was on the rise

Whispering prayers with each step

Hoping God would hear my cries…

I was arguing just a little

Saying, God…this makes no sense…

For one so young to be so sick

I guess I'm just too dense…

She's got so much inside her

So much love and life to share

Oh God, please listen to me

Oh please just hear my prayer…

Why not just take me Lord?

I've been on Earth a while

And it's not that I don't like it-

For Your world brings me a smile…

But I've had a life of many years

And had my chance at Love

I've had some trials and some tears

But with help from you above…

Just let her have a chance at Life

Please give your gift of time

Let her walk your meadows green

And your mighty mountains climb…

Let her hair be kissed with gray

As her children gather round

Let her heart be filled with love

And wear happiness as a crown…

So if you think that you could call

This child of yours on home…

Let me grasp her hand a while

And share the love you’ve shown…

Saying Goodbye

I know words right now

don't mean very much...

your heart is so heavy,

your soul feels crushed.

With so much sympathy,

I feel your deep pain,

but your sorrowful loss

was heaven's great gain.

To lose a loved one

to heaven's gates...

is hard for us,

in this human state.

To say goodbye,

is for only a span,

it’s all part of

God's master plan.

May you find comfort

in his sweet embrace...

trusting in him,

till you're face to face.

The life that is gone

lives on through the love...

that was left here for you

when the soul soared above.

Though we said goodbye,

it's only for awhile,

and your dear loved one

wears a heavenly smile.

Soaring with angels...

trying out new wings...

smiling and happy...

as with them she sings.

There is no more pain,

and her body is new,

saying goodbye...

is temporary for you.

He Will Not Fail You

When in your time of sorrow

May the Lord of love and mercy

Give you grace within your grief

May He touch your mourning spirit

And bring you blessed relief

May you find joy in the Lord

As He guides you on your way

May his face be e'er before you

May you know you're not alone today

He is walking by you always

Holding your hand in His own

Remember He has promised

Every tear will be wiped away

So put your trust in Jesus

He will not fail you all the way

If He Could

He would be here if he could,

To help relieve your sorrow.

And he would tell you: "Time will heal,

Though maybe not tomorrow."

He would be here if he could,

To comfort you in grieving.

And he would tell you: "I'm at peace.

Don't fret about my leaving."

He would be here if he could,

But he's too busy singing.

And you will hear him often

When you hear the church bells ringing.

He would be here if he could,

But he gave you his best.

And after many weary miles,

It's now his time to rest.

God Called Your Name

God called your name today

and you went to meet him there.

Upwards in the big blue sky

to sing with the angel choir.

The earth will hold your shell,

but your essence still remains,

we'll miss your physical presence,

and it just won't be the same.

We know that you are in good hands...

forgive our tears below...

You're soaring now with angels,

where peaceful waters flow.

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free

I’m following the path God has laid you see.

I took His hand when I heard him call

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

to laugh, to love, to work, to play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss

Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full; I savored much

Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and peace to thee

God wanted me now; He set me free.

Life is but a Stopping Place

Life is but a stopping place,

A pause in what's to be,

A resting place along the road,

to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

Different paths along the way,

We all were meant to learn some things,

but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,

Far greater than we know.

For some the journey's quicker,

For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,

We'll claim a great reward,

And find an everlasting peace,

Together with the lord.

Listen With Your Heart

Memories are a treasure time cannot take away,

so may you be surrounded by happy ones today.

May all the love and tenderness of golden years well spent,

come back today to fill your heart with beauty and content.

And may you walk down memory lane and meet the ones you love,

for while you cannot see them they are watching from above.

And if you trust your dreaming your faith will make it true,

and if you listen with your heart they will come and talk to you.

So for their sake be happy and show them that their love,

has proven strong and deep enough to reach down from above.

And you will never walk alone when memories door swings wide,

For you will find your loved one is always by your side.
