Within My Heart
The moment that you died my heart was torn in two, one side filled with heartache, the other died with you. I often lie awake at night, when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane, with tears upon my cheeks. Remembering you is easy, I do it everyday, but missing you is heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain. ________________
Angel Wings Spread your wings and fly my angel Your life has touched us all. Your wings so very delicate, But your spirit conquers all. You gave us so much joy on earth But God now reclaims his prize. Spread your wings and fly my angel Let your wings take to the skies. We will miss you dearly, but your Transition is complete. Your wings are now an angel’s Back home you must retreat. ________________
You’re here with me Although I cannot see you I know that this is true I feel your arms surrounding me You watch over all I do. Guiding me and giving me A light to show the way You influence the way I am and how I act throughout the day. You’re here with me, I know you are I can sense your love and charm Drifting in the cool night breeze and keeping me from harm. I hope that I might make you proud As I give support to others Those who feel despair, they are My sisters and my brothers. So here I stand, with eyes ahead And I’ll try hard you’ll see To make my life a worthwhile time Because I know you’re here with me. ________________
Happiness Waiting for You There is light at the end of the tunnel. There is calm at the end of the storm… There is rest at the end of the journey, and a hearth that is welcome and warm. There’s a star on the top of the mountain you can touch when the last crag is scaled. There’s a certain reward for the faithful at the point where they think they have failed. There’s a spring at the end of the winter and behind the black cloud it is blue… There’s a song at the heart of your sorrow, and happiness waiting for you. Do you make them laugh in Heaven, does your smile bring them good cheer? Do you make the sun shine brighter, like you did when you were here? The very mention of your name, the memories of your smile, The little things you said and did, are with us all the while. You meant so very much to us, there’s nothing left to say, Except that without you here there is no perfect day. For no-one knows the heartache, that lies behind our smiles, No-one knows how many times we have broken down & cried. We want to tell you something so there won’t be any doubt, You’re so wonderful to think of, but so hard to be without. We hold you close within our hearts, and there you shall remain. To walk with us throughout our lives, until we meet again. ________________
Dad Dad…so many images come to mind whenever I speak your name; It seems without you in my life things have never been the same. What happened to those lazy days when I was just a child; When my life was consumed in you in your love, and in your smile. What happened to all those times when I always looked to you; No matter what happened in my life you could make my gray skies blue. Dad, some days I hear your voice and turn to see your face; Yet in my turning…it seems the sound has been erased. Dad, who will I turn to for answers when life does not make sense; Who will be there to hold me close when the pieces just don’t fit. Oh, Dad, if I could turn back time and once more hear your voice; I’d tell you that out of all the dads you would still be my choice. Please always know I love you and no one can take your place; Years may come and go but your memory will never be erased. Today, Jesus, as You are listening in your home above; Would you go and find my dad and give him all my love
