Once upon a time

Not so very long ago.

I had you close beside me.

And now you’ve gone below.

I knew your time had arrived

The end of your life’s road.

You left to be with god that day

to lightened up your load.

Your life on earth was short in years,

Too young to die, so many tears.

Heartaches too much for us to bear,

signs of you left everywhere.

Along with your life, you took our hearts

And shook our very core.

Leaving us with a heartache,

to grieve forevermore.
