In Loving Memory Dad Grandad
In Loving Memory – Remembrance Verses and Poems for your Dear Father Dad – Grandad Grandfather.
Dad I Miss You
You often said we’d miss you Dad
how those words, have proved you true –
We lost our one and only Dad
dearest Dad, when we lost you.
–
If we had all the world to give
we’d give it, yes, and more –
To hear his voice, see his smile
and greet him at the door.
But all we can do dear father
is go and tend your grave –
And leave behind, tokens of love
to the best Dad God ever made.
–
Dad/Grandad is such a special word
a word that brings to mind –
A big warm smile, a helping hand
a way of being kind.
Devotion to the family
a word of patience too –
Dad/Grandad is such a special word
because it stands for “YOU”.
–
It’s so strange, that those in need
and those we love the best –
Are just the ones, God calls away
and took them home to rest.
But every time I think of Dad/Grandad
I seem to hear God say –
“Have faith and trust my promise”
you’ll meet Him again someday.
–
What we’d give
if we could say –
Hello Dad/Grandad
in the, same old way.
To hear his voice
and see his smile –
To sit with him
and chat a while.
So if you still have your Dad/Grandad
cherish his life with care –
For you’ll never know the heartache
’till you see his vacant chair.
–
You held my hand when I was small
you caught me when I fell –
The hero of my childhood
and of latter years as well.
Every time I think of you
my heart just fills with pride –
And though I’ll always miss you Dad
I know you’re by my side.
In laughter and in sorrow
in sunshine and in rain –
I know you’re watching over me
until we meet again.
–
Memories of Dad
I will take this special moment
to turn my thoughts to Dad –
Thank him for the home he gave
for all the things we had.
We think about the fleeting years
too quickly, gone for good –
It seems like only yesterday
I’d go back if I could.
A time when Dad was always there
no matter what the weather –
Always strong when things went wrong
he held our lives together.
He strived so hard from day to day
and never once complained –
With steady hands, he worked so hard
and kept the family name.
He taught us that hard work pays off
you reap just what you sow –
He said that if you tend your crops
your field will overflow.
My life has been bountiful
he taught me how to give –
In his firm and steadfast way
he taught me how to live.
Dad dwells among the angels now
he left us much too soon –
He glides across a golden field
above the harvest moon.
I see him in the summer rain
he rides upon the wind –
And when my path is beaten down
he picks me up again.
–
Dad/Grandad is gone but not forgotten
as it dawns another year –
In the lonely hours of thinking
thoughts of him, are ever near.
Many think that the
wound has healed –
– But little do they
know of the sorrow
that lies in the
heart concealed.
–
Please. God, forgive
a silent tear –
A fervent wish
our Dad/Grandad was here.
There are others
yes we know –
But he was ours
and we loved him so.
Dear God, please take a message
to our Dad/Grandad in Heaven above –
Tell him how much we miss him
and give to him, all our love.
–
Dad/Grandad, you’re not forgotten
though on earth you are no more –
Still in memory, you are with us
as you always were before.
–
In our hearts your memory lingers
sweetly tender, fond and true –
There’s not a day dear Dad/Grandad
that we do not think of You.
–
His smile has gone forever
and his hand we cannot touch –
We have so many memories, of a
Dad/Grandad, we loved so much.
–
An understanding heart
an intelligent mind –
We miss you Dad/Grandad
you were one of a kind.
–
God Knows how much I miss him
my heart, can’t tell what to say –
God alone knows how much I miss him
in a home, that’s lonesome today.
–
His charming ways and smiling face
are a pleasure to recall –
He had a kindly word for each
and died beloved to all.
–
A part of me, he took with him
but his love, he left me to keep –
So we will never really be parted
the bond between us, is far too deep.
–
Looking back with memories
upon the path you trod –
We bless the hours, we had with you
and leave the rest with God.
–
We lost a Dad/Grandad
with a heart of gold –
How much we miss him
can never be told.
He shared our troubles
and helped us along –
If we follow his footsteps
we will never go wrong.
–
What would I give to clasp his hand
his happy face to see –
To hear his voice, and see his smile
that meant so much to me.
–
The rolling stream of life goes on
but still the vacant chair –
Recalls the love, the voice, the smile
of one, who once sat there.
–
Nothing can ever, take away
the love a heart holds dear –
Fond memories linger every day
remembrance keeps him near.
–
His nature you could not help loving
and a heart that was purer than gold –
And to those who knew him and loved him
his memory will never grow cold.
–
More and more, each day we miss him
though others, think the wound is healed –
But, they little know the sorrow felt
lying in our hearts, concealed.
–
You’re not forgotten Father dear
nor ever shall you be –
As long as life and memory last
I shall remember thee.
–
His memory is
as dear today –
As in the hour
he passed away.
–
The blow was great
the shock severe –
We little thought
his death so near.
Only those that
have lost can tell –
The sorrow of parting
without farewell.
–
We often think of days gone by
When we were all together –
A shadow o’er our lives is cast
Our loved one gone forever.
–
And have you gone, forever gone
and left us here to weep –
Till we are called to follow you
and in the grave to sleep.
Yet since you could no longer stay
to cheer us with your love –
We hope to meet you again in
the bright world above.
–
One precious to our hearts has gone
the voice we loved is stilled –
The place made vacant in our home
can never more be filled.
Our Father in His wisdom called
the one His love had given –
And so on earth, the body lays
his soul, is safe in Heaven.
–
No one knows how much I miss you
no one knows the bitter pain –
I have suffered, since I lost you
life has never been the same.
In my heart your memory lingers
sweetly tender, fond and true –
There is not a day, dear Father
that I don’t think of you.
–
We think of him in silence
no eyes can see us weep –
But still within our aching hearts
his memory we keep.
–
Gone is the face
we loved so dear –
Silent the voice
we loved to hear.
Too far away
for sight or speech –
But not too far
for love to reach.
Sweet to remember him
who once was here
And who, though absent
is just as dear.
–
A beautiful memory, dearer than gold
of a Dad whose worth can never be told –
There’s a place in my heart no one can fill
I miss you, Dad, and always will.
–
I never ask for miracles
but today, just one would do –
To see the front door open
and see our Dad walk through.
–
We miss his smile
his kindly ways –
With him we spent
some happy days.
We’ll miss him when
we need a friend –
On him we always
could depend.
If only he
were here today –
Then this to him
we could say.
God bless you, Dad/Grandad
on your special day.
–
His nature loving and giving
with a heart of pure gold –
And to us, who truly love him
his memory, will never grow old.
–
I have lost
heaven has gained –
The most wonderful dad
this world contained.
There’s just one thing
makes me glad –
God chose you, to be
my Dad/Grandad.
–
The last time I saw you
you looked so bright and well –
Little did I know, Dad/Grandad
it would be our last farewell.
–
Heavenly Father
hear my prayer ,,
guide my Dad/Grandad
with your tender care.
Love him in heaven
as I did at home –
the dearest Dad/Grandad
this world could own.
–
In dreams I see your smiling face
and kiss your tender brow –
I then awake and realize
I have no father now.
–
Remembering you is easy
Dad/Grandad
I do it every day –
And missing you is something
that will never go away.
–
I wish that I could see you, Dad
for just a little while –
I wish that I could hug you
and see your lovely smile.
But wishing gets me no where
and longing is in vain –
So I will hold you in my heart
until we meet again.
–
Thinking of you Dad/Grandad
but that is nothing new –
I thought about you yesterday
and the day before that too.
I’ll think about you tomorrow
and as the years come and go –
I’ll think of you forever
because I loved you so.
–
You’ve earned your place in heaven, Dad
after all that you’ve been through –
I wish I could have helped you more
but there was nothing I could do.
Peacefully sleeping
now out of pain –
I would not wake you up
to suffer again.
–
It seems so long
since last we met –
But happy times
are remembered yet.
–
There’s a bridge of happy memories
from here to heaven above –
I know we share that bridge Dad
It’s called the Bridge of Love.
–
Dearest Lord
high up above –
Give to Dad/Grandad
all of our love.
Hug him Lord and
tell him our thoughts –
That we think of him always
and miss him lots.
