In Loving Memory Pet Loss Poems

Loss Of A Pet. Loss Of A Dog. Loss Of A Cat.

Pet Loss Verses Cat Loss Dog Loss Poems

The years they pass by quickly
we think they’ll never end –
But time is not always going
to be, our greatest friend.

My beautiful fur Angel
we shared so many years –
But now you’ve gone home to friends
whilst I am left in tears.

But one day I will join you
but for now you will be missed –
So run, play in gods garden
you know you can’t resist.

God needed an Angel in Heaven
to sit at the Savior’s feet –
His choice must be the rarest
A dog/cat that’s pure and sweet.

He gazed upon the mighty throng
Then stopped and picked the best –
Our dog/cat was His chosen one
With Jesus she’s/he’s now at rest.

Meet You By Rainbow Bridge
(In Loving Memory – Cat)

I thought that you would live forever
your death never crossed my mind –
You were always such a healthy baby
and It hurts to be left behind.

I couldn’t watch you get sick again
your suffering made me cry –
The Vets had no solutions
nothing else that I could try.

I took you to the Vet that day
my eyes were full of tears –
Not wanting to give up on you
after all our wonderful years.

I held you in my arms that day
my tears soaked through your fur –
You never struggled or tried to run
you didn’t even purr.

Somehow you knew your time was up
from pain you would be free –
You let me hold you tight and cry
as I wished it could be me.

The doctor gave you a special injection
to stop your beating heart –
I held you close as you went to Heaven
and then I just fell apart.

I lost my very best friend that day
how could I go on?
My life will never be the same
with my little baby gone.

I miss you more than words can say
my heart has a hole inside –
The day you left to go to Heaven
a part of me just died.

Though time has passed since that day
yet tears still freely flow –
I miss you just as much today
as I did some time ago.

I’m sure you’ve made some friends by now
as by Rainbow Bridge you play –
You’re a healthy little kitty, now
with no pain in your way.

I’ll keep your memory in my heart
until my days are past –
Then I’ll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge
where we can cross at last.

I’m not sure what lies beyond The Bridge
but it doesn’t matter to me –
I’ll finally have my best friend back,
my tears will turn to glee.

The blow was great
the shock severe –
We little thought
the end was near.

And only those
who have lost, can tell –
The pain of parting
with no farewell.

It broke our hearts to lose you
but you did not go alone –
A part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Nothing can ever take away
the love, a heart holds dear –
Fond memories linger every day
remembrance keeps you near.

Everywhere I went, you were by my side
my sunshine in every way –
We walked, played, we traveled
together and snuggled up every day.

Everyone loved you. How could they not?
You were the sweetest dog one could wish for –
You never got angry or left me alone
The darling little girl I adored.

But now you’re gone
and there’s a hole in my heart
They tell me, in time I’ll heal –
Thank you, Fur Baby for all you gave
your love was lasting and real.

You touched my life with your gentle, shy ways
Your spirit, like soft white snow –
Spread your furry angel wings, and fly
for now you are free to go.

Have you welcomed her to Heaven, Lord?
did you pat her little head?
Please give her a hug each night
before she goes to bed?

She’ll look up at you with shining eyes
when she sees your face –
She’ll wag her furry little tail
as she runs about the place.

Have you welcomed her to Heaven, Lord?
please make room, for just one more –
Because my fur baby died today
and she’ll be waiting at your door.

Please take her into Heaven, Lord
and keep her there for me –
Just feed her, pat and love her, Lord
that’s all she’ll ask of Thee.

We will remember you always

Loyal, loving, faithful, brave
until my saddest day – when
you went alone, your lonely road
but here, I had to stay.

I have a dog named _____
who simply guards the place –
he keeps us safe from strangers
that might invade our space.

He works for treats and cookies
the labor’s very hard –
intruders just may pay the price
if they enter his yard.

Now he has grown older
the years have slowed him some –
but when looking for a loyal friend
my dog is the one.

I hope someday in Heaven
God will find a special place –
for a dog that served his master
as a loving guide, with grace.

From One Friend To Another

A special gift you’re giving me
The one that you have vowed –
And through these last few precious days
Your courage makes me proud.

But really, love is knowing
When your best friend is in pain –
And understanding earthly acts
Will only be in vain.

So looking deep into your eyes
Beyond, into your soul –
I see in you the magic, that will
Once more make me whole.

The strength that you possess
Is why I look to you today –
You must do what must be done
For it’s the only way.

That strength is why I’ve followed you
And chose you as my friend –
And why I’ve loved you all these years
My partner ’til the end.

Please, understand just what this gift
You’re giving, means to me –
It gives me back the strength I’ve lost
And all my dignity.

You take a stand on my behalf
For that is what friends do –
And know that what you do is right
For I believe it too.

So one last time, I breathe your scent
And through your hand I feel –
The courage that’s within you
To now grant me this appeal.

Cut the leash that holds me here
Dear friend, and let me run –
Once more a strong and steady dog
My pain and struggle done.

And don’t despair my passing
For I won’t be far away –
Forever here, within your heart
And memory I’ll stay.

I’ll be there watching over you
Your ever faithful friend –
And in your memories I’ll run,
a young dog once again.

Weep Not for Me

Far above the sad dark Earth
I found my place in the sky –
I would be completely happy
But I see sadness in your eyes.

I know I was your special cat
And that you loved me so –
I heard the breaking of your heart
But still I had to go.

I remember our walks in the sun
And the way you would pat my head –
How you worried when I was out at night
Until I was safe in bed.

I heard you pray to God
You begged Him to let me stay –
It was not the Lord’s fault
I had to go away.

Look around and you will see
I am never far from your love –
I stand here at the edge of Heaven
Watching over you from above.

Please don’t spend your time
Mourning at my fate –
For when I reopened my eyes
I stood at Heaven’s gate.

Don’t blame yourself for what had to be
We had many happy years –
Let my tribute be your laughter
Stain not my memory with tears.

I am better now Mistress
If only you could see –
I am happier than I had even hoped
For your love’s light wings did carry me.

Your care made my days a Heaven
Your compassion did set me free –
And though I am at the feet of the Lord
My love will forever with you be.

Tears in my eyes I cannot hide
Time has Come to let you go –
Sorrow invades deep in my soul
Because I love you so.

I do not know what to do
I don’t want to let you go –
But the Lord above is waiting
and It’s your time I know.

This is not goodbye my friend
Someday soon, Angel of fur –
I will be with you again.
and my heart will hurt no more.

That day will come, but for now
I must set you free –
To run and roam with the Wind.
at Rainbow Bridge, wait there for me.

At Rainbow Bridge there is no pain
no suffering and no end –
Please remember and wait for me
my dear and faithful friend.

You have a special place Dear Lord
that I know you’ll always keep –
a special place reserved for pets
when they quietly fall asleep.

A pet is such a special friend
a friend in many ways –
Sharing love and companionship
just looking for your praise.

You will live on in my heart
My little friend so true –
And memories of you will fill my mind
Until I go to you.

They say when you die and go to heaven
all the dogs and cats you’ve ever had
in your life, come running to meet you.

A sensitive soul
Who’d not hurt a flea –
Sweet kind and obedient
Loved his family.

Neurotic, at times
Afraid of other dogs –
Of thunder, of fireworks
And sometimes the fog.

You came to us scarred
Abandoned, alone –
Unsure of our motives
You shook to the bone.

In time you trusted
And opened your heart –
To your kind family
Who loved from the start.

Intelligent and sweet
Your eyes beamed with joy –
When hearing the words
“What a VERY good boy”.

The years you loved us
Through good times and bad –
And loved us completely
How could we be sad?

Our pain is now stabbing
Intense and quite grave –
But will not diminish
The gifts that you gave.

We truly Love you
And this is not the end –
You’ll be with us always
We thank you, dear friend.

It takes us back to brighter years
to happier sunlit days –
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.

And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart –
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part.

There is a bridge of memories
from Earth to Heaven above –
It keeps our dear ones near us
It’s the bridge that we call love.

With heavy hearts
and a tear in our eyes –
after all these years
we must say our goodbyes.

Please understand
we’ve done all we could –
if there were anything more
you know we would.

I’m sitting right here
gently rub your ears –
while I talk to you softly
trying to hold back the tears.

The memories you gave us
we’ll never forget –
especially the ones
of the day we all met.

One last hug
and one last kiss –
you have no idea
how much you’ll be missed.

To look into your eyes
this one last time –
you tell me it’s okay
you know it’s your time.

Close your eyes now
and go to sleep –
we’ll pray to the Lord
you’re soul he’ll keep.

Go in peace now
our good friend –
we’ll stay right here, with you
until the very end.

Dream of that
special day and time –
when we’ll meet at the Bridge
and all will be fine.

We’ll run and play
side by side –
with a soft warm feeling
deep down inside.

Your memory will live on
in, each one of us –
you’ll always be number 1
to all of us.

Have a safe journey
through the night –
I promise when you awake
you’ll be in God’s light.

So with heavy hearts
and tears in our eyes –
just for now, my friend
we say our goodbyes.

You have a special place Dear Lord
that I know you’ll always keep –
a special place reserved for dogs
when they quietly fall asleep.

Warm light coming
from far below –
As twinkling sparkling
candles glow.

All is well
up on the ridge –
The place we know
as Rainbow Bridge.

Fur-babies sleeping
in heaven’s light –
Tended by candles
throughout the night.

Peaceful dreams
be theirs to keep –
As they slumber in
this night so deep.

Hearts on earth
that miss them so –
Take comfort in
the candle’s glow.

Watching for them
in skies above –
Bound eternally by
a cord of love.

Pets touch our lives in
their own special ways and
remain forever, in the warmest
corners of our hearts.

A good dog never dies
He always stays –
He walks besides you
on crisp autumn days.

The birds still sing the flowers grow
the breeze still whispers too –
but it will never ever be
the same world without you.

You were a tiny furry kitten
the day I took you home –
I knew I had a friend in you
and would never be alone.

You grew and grew and got so big
you looked like a ball of fur –
I miss you now, as you had to leave
but I’ll remember you, the way you were.

You had a life fit for a King
and a kingdom for you to roam –
and now I’ll see you in my dreams
but I will always feel alone.

You were my very best friend
so much fun to watch and see –
I never knew what you would do next
as you also liked to roam free.

I worried when you stayed out all night
but I knew you were having fun –
chasing bunnies, mice and toads
always on the run.

You will live on in my heart dear friend
and I’ll feel your presence here –
when I am all alone
I can still feel you near.

I know you’re at the Rainbow Bridge
with the animals I loved before –
They were all there waiting
and let you through the door.

When time comes for us to be
I’ll be walking over the Ridge –
and together we will be forever
as we cross the Rainbow Bridge.

No longer in our
life to share –
But in our hearts
you are always there.
