My Father Through The Years – By Ann Landers | Father In Loving Memory Poems

My Father Through The Years
(In Loving Memory Dad Poems)

When I was 4 years old –
‘My Daddy can do anything’
When I was 5 years old –
‘My Daddy knows a whole lot’
When I was 6 years old –
‘My Dad is smarter than your Dad’
When I was 8 years old –
‘My Dad doesn’t know exactly everything’
When I was 10 years old –
‘In the olden days when my Dad grew up,
things were so different’
When I was 12 years old –
‘Oh well, naturally Dad doesn’t
know anything about that,
he is too old to remember his childhood’
When I was 14 years old –
‘Don’t pay any attention to my Dad,
he is so old fashioned’
When I was 21 years old –
Him? He’s hopelessly out of date!’
When I was 25 years old –
‘Dad knows about it but then he should,
he’s been around so long.’
When I was 30 years old –
‘Maybe we should ask Dad
what he thinks, after all,
he’s had a lot of experience’
When I was 35 years old –
‘I’m not doing a single
thing until I talk to Dad!’
When I was 40 years old –
‘I wonder how Dad would’ve
handled it, he was so wise’
When I was 50 years old –
‘I’d give anything if Dad were here now
so I could talk this over with him.
Too bad I didn’t appreciate how smart he was.
I could’ve learned a lot from him.’

He Is Gone | Sympathy Memorial Male Poems

He Is Gone
(Sympathy Male Poems)

You can shed tears
that he is gone ..
Or you can smile
because he has lived.

You can close your eyes and
pray that he will come back ..
Or you can open your eyes
and see all that he has left.

Your heart can be empty
because you can’t see him ..
Or you can be full
of the love that you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow
and live yesterday ..
Or you can be happy for tomorrow
because of yesterday.

You can remember him
and only that he is gone ..
Or you can cherish his memory
and, let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind
be empty and turn your back ..
Or you can do what he would want
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Our Father Kept A Garden | Sympathy Poems

Our Father Kept A Garden
(Sympathy Memorial Poems)

Our Father kept a garden
a garden of the heart ..
He planted all the good things
that gave our lives their start.

He turned us to the sunshine
and encouraged us to dream ..
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem.

And when the winds and rain came
he protected us enough ..
But not too much because he knew
we would stand up strong and tough.

His constant good example
always taught us right from wrong ..
Markers for our pathway
that will last a lifetime long.

We are our Fathers garden
We are his legacy.

Thank you Dad we love you.

Courage Of A Little Lad | Daddy Memorial Sympathy Poems

Courage Of A Little Lad
(Daddy Sympathy Memorial Poems)

It was so very sad
with a tear in every eye,
to see this little lad
having to say goodbye ..
.. to his beloved Daddy.
it broke my heart,
made me so sad,
His only child
this little lad ..
.. was there to send his
Daddy off to heaven.

This lad had
courage way beyond ..
What he should of
one so young.

Was this lads trust
that made me see ..
That he knew much more
than you and me.

For I believe
that what he knew ..
That on the day
his life is through

.. His Daddy will be there
to take him home.
