so much to do -
From washing, ironing
and cooking too.
You scrubbed, mended

You kept us clean
and you kept us clothed.
You were the doctor
when we were ill -
Putting on dressings
a hug or a pill.
You were the teacher, when
we had schoolwork to do -
You gave us love
hugs and patience too.
Mother you had
soooo much to do -
It’s no wonder that

In life we were
