Thank You Mom
(Mom Poems)

I know how often I
took you for granted
when I was growing up.

I always assumed
you’d be there .
when I needed you ..
.. and you always were.

But I never really thought about
what that meant till I got older
and began to realize how often
your time and energy
were devoted to me.

So now, for all the times
I didn’t say it before ..
.. Thank you, Mom
I love you so very much!

The Hand That Rocks The World

They say that man is mighty
to do, all the things you did.

He wields a mighty specter
O’er lesser powers that be.

But a mightier power and stronger
man from his throne has hurled ..
For the hand that rocks the cradle
is the hand that rocks the world.

By William Ross Wallace

Thanking God For You

A Mother prayer just for you
to thank the Lord above ..
For blessing me in this life
with your tender love.

I thank God for all the caring
you’ve shown me through the years ..
For the closeness we’ve enjoyed
of laughter, love and tears.

And so, I thank you from my heart
for all you’ve done for me ..
And I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be!

You Mean So Much To Me

I wish I could tell you, Mom
how much you mean to me ..
But there are no words to say
how much so you could see.

I truly appreciate your love
and all the things you do ..
For everything you’ve ever done
Mom, I Thank You.

A Special Gift
(Mother Poems)

My Mother is a special gift
a gift given to me ..
I’d be lost without her
if she went away, you see.

I couldn’t bear to live without her
love and soothing touch ..
Thank-you God for giving me
a Mom to love so much.

Mother o’ Mine

If I were hanged on the highest hill
Mother o’ mine, O mother o’ mine ..
.. I know whose love would follow me still
Mother o’ mine, O mother o’ mine!

If I were drowned in the deepest sea
Mother o’ mine, O mother o’ mine ..
.. I know whose tears
would come down to me
Mother o’ mine, O mother o’ mine!

If I were damned of body and soul
I know whose prayers
would make me whole
Mother o’ mine, o mother o’ mine!

By Rudyard Kipling

To My Mother
(Mother Poems)

Because I feel that, in the Heavens above
the angels, whispering to one another ..
Can find, among their burning terms of love
none so devotional as that of “Mother,”

Therefore by that dear name I long have called you
you who are more than mother unto me ..
And fill my heart of hearts, where Death installed you
in setting my Virginia’s spirit free.

My mother — my own mother, who died early
was but the mother of myself; but you ..
Are mother to the one I loved so dearly
and thus are dearer than the mother I knew.

By that infinity with which my wife
Was dearer to my soul than its soul-life.

By Edgar Allan Poe

Mother and Child
(Mother Child Poems)

A mother’s love begins
before her child’s birth ..
And lasts through her lifetime
That is spent on earth.

With difficulties and differences
many wounds and days of joy
With days of sorrow, love and laughter
with her girl or boy ..

What still remains, until the end
is that solid bond of love ..
Between mother and her child
and will remain, thereof.
