I Am Her Child
(Child Loss Memorial Poems)

My mom is a survivor
or so it has been said ..
But do you know, she cries each night
when she goes to bed.

She lies awake every night
she knows not, that I’m near ..
I hold her hand and touch her hair
to help to ease her fear.

But like sands on the beach
that will never wash away ..
I watch my mom suffer
day after endless day.

She wears a smile for others
her smile hides her despair ..
But watching my mom suffer
is more than I an bare.

She does not know or believe
that I’m really there ..
So please, I ask, visit my mom
to show her that you care.

For no matter what she tells you
I know just how she feels .,.
My mom’s heart is broken
that time can’t ever heal.
