He Was Never Alone – By Kathryn James | Memorial Poems

He Was Never Alone
(Son Memorial Poems)

I’m so sorry son, I didn’t get
to hold your hand in mine ..
To kiss your face, my precious Son
I wasn’t given the time.

The doctor said you wouldn’t hear
But I whispered anyway ..
“Your tired now my darling
go now .. you mustn’t stay”.

As Angels gathered round you
I felt the whisper of their wings ..
and as they spirited you away
I thought of so many things.

“Why God why? My precious Son?
why not Me instead?”
That’s not the way
it’s supposed to be
he just cannot be dead!

Can’t the Angels wait awhile?
give me a little more time? ..
there’s so much more I need to say
before I say good-bye.

Please say you’ll grant me
one more hour
I have so much to do ..
Kiss, hug and hold him close
before, I give him to you.

Alright Lord, I trust you!
I just have to ask, you see? ..
Just one more little favor Lord
Please tell him good-bye for me.

Daddy’s Little Man By Mildred Paxton | Father Son Poems

Daddy’s Little Man
(Father Son Poems)

I watched him as he glanced up
To look at Daddy’s face ..
He walked a little faster
To keep up with the pace.

I watched him as he reached out
and took his Daddy’s hand ..
Trying to do everything like him
And be Daddy’s little man.

I listened to his questions
Asked in baby talk ..
Daddy answered as best he could
as they continued with their walk.

You could tell he started to tire
For it was plain to see ..
He stopped and held up his little arms
And said “Daddy Please hold me”.

Daddy grinned and picked him up
carried him awhile without a peep ..
Held his little boy close to him
For Daddy’s little man had fallen.
fast asleep.

Son Poems | Little Boys

Little Boys
(Son Poems)

Little boys come in
all shapes and sizes ..
Shy and adventurous
full of surprises.

With misshapen halos
and mischievous grins ..
Small dirty faces
and sweet, sticky chins.

They’ll keep you so busy
and yet all the while ..
Nothing can brighten
the world, like their smile.

And no greater treasure
has brought homes more joy ..
Than a curious, active
and lovable boy!

Son Poems | To My Son – By Bruce B. Wilmer

To My Son
(Son Poems)

I look to you with hope and pride
I see your future brightly ..
Your deep concerns and aspirations
I will not take lightly.

The future is a mystery
That everyone explores ..
I’ll share your possibilities
Embrace your distant shores.

I’ll answer you when questions stir
Encourage you, implore you ..
But life’s a challenge shaped by dreams
A gift I can’t live for you.

So live it well; respect it fully
Play your spirit out ..
Seek and then discover
All the best that life’s about.

Remember that you’re not alone
My love is always there ..
The challenge that defines your life
My heart will gladly share.

You’re on a voyage into time
A trip to somewhere new ..
You may not always see me there
But I’ll be there with you.
